Moments for Me Monday

*edited to add - I'm having trouble getting the mister linky on here since my blog redesign....and I'm just now noticing that all Mr Linky's from previous M4M posts are gone. UGH! But I figure since the participation to these M4M posts has been luke warm at best any how....I'll just keep doin my own thing. And if you want to participate...just leave a comment so we can find your post.

Having a difficult time getting this post together as my house is filled with puppy chaos these days. FYI - puppies are a lot of work!

Well, last week I said I'd work on ten pledges to myself as inspired by Maria Shriver. But I've slacked a bit and haven't had time to work on it this week. These next 2 weeks are crazy with end of school year parties, field trips, and activities so I'm really not sure how much I'll be able to blog for the next couple weeks.

I've had a great M4M week. Kelly, Tina, and I went scrapbooking Friday night.

There's Kelly!

I always end up doing more talking than scrapbooking but it's fun anyway. I finished a couple pages of our Girls Trip to New York from back in 2005 and then worked on my computer for awhile to try to get my FIL's father's day gift completed....I'm doing some digital scrapbooking to have a "Grandpa's Brag Book" made. I'm getting there. But I think, unfortunately, that I won't be able to see the finished product because by the time I finish the thing and am ready to have it printed....I'll have to have it sent directly to his house (he lives in Texas) so he'll get it in time for Father's Day. Bummer.

I also spent 8 hours in the car Saturday with my girlfriend, Kelly, to pick up our little puppies. It was a long drive but well worth it! Check out this cutie patootie!....ps - I'm referring to the dog!

Introducing.......Rosie

It was late by the time I returned home with her....around 9:30pm....but, as expected, the kids insisted on staying up to meet her. We haven't gotten a whole lot of sleep since then anyhow. I've forgotten how trying it can be to crate and potty train a pup. We're all a little exhausted these days. And she is now confined to the kitchen until we can get her to go potty outside....my poor poor carpet!

The kids are thrilled!

And now....another message from Robert Holden's book, Happiness Now.

"To be happy, you have to give up self-improvement." (shut up Kelly!) "No amount of Self-improvement can make up for a lack of Self-acceptance." "Over and over you promise yourself that after this last "must," "ought," or "should," you will be completely happy forever. The trouble is, without Self-acceptance, there is no end to self-improvement and to "oughtism." The ego is addicted to "oughtism" because it's also addicted to the idea that happiness requires perfect conditions. Furthermore, the ego, by its very nature, is never, ever satisfied. You cannot appease the ego; you can only let go of it. The choice is, therefore, either that you try in vain to first take care of all your "oughtism" and then be happy, or you just decide to be happy anyway! You can do this with Self-acceptance, the acceptance that happiness is free to you always."

That is an adorable dog. And your children look elated. Your home looks like a nice place to be. You seem like a really good mom.

The puppy is adorable. We have two dogs, so I know that training a puppy can be DIFFICULT. It took use 4 months to train our last dog - THE LONGEST FOUR MONTHS OF MY LIFE. Good luck!

Rosie is adorable! Hey I always talk to much while I'm scrapbooking too. I also sit there and look at my pictures and tell everyone the story behind them. I'm surprised I ever finish a page. That's the fun of it, right!?!
