Hormones Part 2

When I was a teenager and young adult I was blessed with flawless skin. While my teenage friends were constantly battling the zits with Clearasil creams, concealers, dermatologists, and frustration I sat by smugly saying "I'm sorry but I just cannot relate."

No I didn't actually say that...relax!

But seriously I don't recall ever having a single blemish. It was my best feature....I mean aside from my very fine ass.....LOL...... I was constantly receiving compliments on my "porcelain skin" and asked question like "what is your secret?"

There was no secret. I took horrible care of my skin. I was a sun junkie and rarely washed my face before bed. I did drink tons of water though (like gallons per day)...so that was my answer. "Well, you know, they say water is good for the complexion...."

Honestly, I chalked it up to good genes. My mom has the same flawless skin in all the photos I've seen of her as a teenager.

And now.... fifteen years later....I sit here with my sore boobs and my crampy belly and my little bladder and my fat ass and.....my skin? Not so flawless anymore. I'm breaking out like a sweaty teenager on crack at the age of 36. Seriously, what's going on?

And on another note. I won't be blogging for the next couple days....we're have'n a party dontcha know! And I NEED to stay off this computer to get things ready. So happy 4th everyone! Have a fantastic holiday weekend!

Dermalogica has a great product line for adult acne that gets great results. I go the microdermabrasion route as well. It helps keep it under control.

I never had a problem with my skin either; unless I was knocked up,which seems odd to me. Hope you have a most excellent party!

Happy 4th to you too Tammy! Have a great party and take pictures. :)

Hmmm...not sure what to say about your skin. You know those pregnancy tests can give a false negative. (insert evil cackle)

Um, I hate you.

Really, though - I hope you have a GREAT 4th of July.

I too had like perfect skin as a teenager and now--not so much. ProActiv is my friend.

Yeah, what is up with that? I was thinking that after having all these kids, I might have no boobs, a huge butt and a spare tire, but at least I would have clear skin. Whatever- I have pimples and all of the above!
Happy 4th and POW

Well now I don't feel so bad. I had beautiful skin in high school and now I know what it must have been like for everybody else. What's up with the adult acne?!

Same exact thing happened to me!! I even had to stop nursing because of severe and dangerous acne. Not a pimple as a teenager.

I've been going through a stage like that. I'm creeping up on 30 and suddenly my face is giving my 13yo stepdaughter's a run for the money.

I'm blaming stress, because we all know I take perfect care of myself. ;)
