Another Halloween post.

I'm finally getting around to downloading Halloween and weekend photos. Better late than never.

I spent the morning of Halloween at the kids' schools helping out at their Halloween parties. And by "helping" I mean sampling the party food....of course.

Dreamy dressed up as a bobble head reaper. He was all excited because the local Channel 7 news was at their school that day and taping the kids during their neighborhood costume parade. They interviewed Dreamy during the parade and the clip was to be played on the 12:00 news. The kids had a half day so he rushed home screaming "I'm gonna be famous!" and turned on the news to find out that they clipped his interview portion from the piece that they aired. He was sooooo disappointed! And I was pretty disappointed for him. Oh well, he'll get his 15 minutes seconds of fame some other day.

Hefty dressed up as "Cuddles with a saw cutting him in half" ....not sure who cuddles is but he thought the idea of maiming a cute fury TV character was pretty cool. This photo was taken shortly after Hefty spilled his entire cup of apple juice. Why is it always MY child that does this? Seriously. And here he is making the *I'm so cute how could you be mad at me* look.

Smurfette dressed as a fairy. Most beautiful darn fairy in the world if you ask me. =) Just have to brag on my daughter here for a moment. When I was in her classroom "helping" out, the classroom teacher's aide came up to me and asked..."who's your child?". I pointed and said "Smurfette." And she said "oh my goodness, she's just the sweetest thing. She's so kind and polite and just so sweet." Made my day people! Of course she's probably saying that to all the parents but it still made my day.

The obligatory pre-trick-or-treating photo.

I have to say that I think the economy is even starting to effect Halloween. Only one out of every 5 or 6 houses participated. And we only had a fraction of the kids come to our house that came last year. There are usually a bunch of homes that go all out with the decorations and spooky effects and we didn't see even one this year. The streets were a bit sad and lonely.

After trick or treating we mosied on over to a neighbor and friend's house. The kids had a blast. T and D know how to throw one hell of a party.

Some of the men played a little Euchre.

Then Saturday night Papa Smurf and I headed to our friends' house for another fun party. You know.....*wink wink*.....The party I referred to in the post from a couple days ago that is about to self destruct. I took a picture of the guys playing poker but was having so much fun with the women I forgot to break out the camera to commemorate Kelly's first adult "toy" party.....and now the moment is lost....*sigh*....

And Sunday morning T and I went to the park and ran 6 miles! It was a gorgeous morning. Wishing I had made it out there a couple weeks earlier for the peak of Autumn color. The peak has passed and now everything is taking on a slightly dingy brown hue. But there's still a little color left. We saw a buck during our run but he was buried in the thick of the trees about 30 yards from us and I couldn't get a good shot of him.

Looks like such a great weekend! Glad your kids had fun. The photo of you and your hubs reminds me of someone from some TV show or something, but it's just not coming to me, darn it! Who have you been told you look like?

I know what you mean... Our neighborhood we really had to work for our candy, like every 5 or 6th house was participating. I was bummed.

I loved the title of your post... seems like EVERYONE had to post, I felt guilty when I didn't run to the PC to post my Halloween crap.

such great pictures - and I love that your kids did full-on costumes! We saw so many trick-or-treaters that were really half-assed in their attempt at dressing up. kind of sad.

we had lots of kids come to the door, but you're right about not as many houses participating this year. also kind of sad.

Uh, what is euchre?

Euchre is the best card game EVER! Google search it! A bit complicated to learn but very addicting once you've got it.
