Sunday marked the official start to our looooooong gymnastics season. This was a very small meet in Ohio. More of a practice meet than an official meet. It was that small. But my boys kicked it off with a fantastic finish.
Dreamy came in 1st place in the All Around for level 6 and Hefty came in 2nd place for the level 7s.
I've decided to post each of their best routines. There's 6 routines in all so I just can't see trying to post all 12 routines. And, of course, celebrate the fact that I think I've figured out this video posting. So I'm participating in Leslie's Video Me Monday.
Isn't her button cute! It's so darn cheery!
This is Hefty on Floor. He received a score of 15.4.
And this is Dreamy on mushroom/pommel. He received a score of 15.2.

HOLY CRAP!!!! Did I not mention that I used to be a gymnast? And then I got too big, but that's besides the point, I am totally into it and I adore gymnasts! I don't know how you didn't just jump out of your skin and scream, "That's my baby! That's my boy! Mommy loves you!!!" Oh. Right. That would be humiliating. But I felt so much pride as if I were right there with you. Awww! WTG boys!! Thanks for playing along!
WOW!
What a talent! Does he give you chill bumps just watching him?
He is absolutely adorable and good!
I bet you are getting your luggage ready for the Olympics!!
Thanks for sharing that with us!
I found you from my sister!!
Very nice video!
:o)
Thanks guys! I had no idea Leslie! I'm so grateful that my boys chose a sport that I actually enjoy watching. I could watch them all day. LOVE it.
And I usually am the obnoxious mom that's hoot'n and holler'n in the background of the camcorder. But my friend and fellow gym mom took care of that for me this time. =)
Ok, damnit, I don't even KNOW you (well, not technically) and I'm TOTALLY tearing up watching your boys!!! How can you stand it?? I am such a sap for kids doing ANYTHING.
Crap. Now I gotta get ready for work and I'm all teary.
Truly, they are awesome and have put in some LONG hours to be able to do that. Would it sound silly for me to say I am SO proud of them??
p.s. I would totally be THAT mom in the crowd that Leslie referred to.
OH MY! Wow! I mean.. WOW! Okay, sorry. I was a little overwhelmed there. I was expecting to see - you know - kid's stuff... not like totally knock my socks off gymnastics. He is so talented. I know you are very proud. Keep us updated so we can say 'Hey! We know his mom!' in a few years when we see him at the Olympics!
Obviously, these boys are talented like their mother. It goes without saying (although I just did). You are rightfully proud.
Stopping by from Leslie's blog...
These are great! My daughters want to try gymnastics... they are 7 and 5. They've both done ballet and tap before... I just hope its not too late to get them started in gymnastics.
It's one of my favorite sports to watch!
Very talented boys you have. Their strength is incredible.
OMG! Little Dudes have got some skillz! That is awesome. Thanks for posting those. It made me smile :)
Oh that's awesome!!! They obviously worked very hard. I soooo wish my dude wanted to continue with gymnastics. I live vicariously through your videos ;-)
